Worshiping in Spirit and In Truth is such a deep revelation, and I only pray that we each receive deeper understanding as we continue to search it out.
Worship is not unlike Love in many ways, for Love is not something we show or give only when we FEEL it, it's an ongoing choice we make once we have made the commitment to show or give it.
We all know that by our spirit alone we are unable to worship our Father, we need the empowering of the Holy Spirit, for without the Holy Spirit our Spirit is dead. To worship in Truth is to worship regardless of our circumstances and to make the choice to worship the truth of our God, which is the word. Our circumstances will change continuously but out God remains the same yesterday, today and forever, so why do we choose to worship him with everything in us when things are good? Because we look at worship through our emotional goggles, we wait for the fuzzy feeling or we wait until things are all good in our life and then we worship to thank him, or we wait for a supernatural movement, but worship is deeper than that, by worshiping when things are good we are putting conditions on it, but God has a greater desire for our worship toward him. If we look at it emotionally we can never experience to any great depth of what the power of true worship can do.
When we can stand and declare how great our God is when everything around us is crashing down and everything within us wants to doubt our Father's love, compassion, grace and mercy, then we will see how powerful our worship is. Worship can be one of the hardest things to do it times of trial but that's when God wants it all the more, it challenges us, yes, but far more greater than that it makes our enemy crumble around us by declaring that no matter what, we will worship. The Bible says “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say Rejoice” how powerful is that, there is no room for misunderstanding there, we are to rejoice, worship, praise our God.
